Facebook has just launched a new service that will verify the accounts of celebrities.
Lady Gaga seems to be far more popular then Amazon had expected. Amazon learnt this the hard way when they launched an offer that was irresistible to the singer’s millions of fans.
Until recently, well known celebrities and stars like Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake were in a race with each other to see whose fan following could out-number the rest on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Now they’re heading in the opposite direction.
For almost the whole month of October 2010, a sort of competition was on between Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. The goal was to be the first to achieve 1 billion video views on YouTube.
Lady Gaga is the first living person to reach the landmark of having 10 million fans on Facebook. As of the 5th of July 2010, she had 10,673,476 fans on Facebook, while the former leader, Barack Obama had 9,824,885 fans at that time.
