Amazon Uses RSS To Cash In On Customer Loyalty

Amazon have become the next big company to use RSS to market product promotions. The amazon ‘Gold Box’ special offers can now be viewed as an RSS feed.

Such a simple implementation of RSS allows Amazon to stay in front of their customers, at no additional cost, even when the customer is not browsing the Amazon site or even actively looking for Books, DVD’s etc. Customers of Amazon who have joined the ‘Gold Box’ program will be able to see the latest special offers available in their gold box, and will be able to view the Amazon page in just one click.
