Sponsored Links From Google Appear On MySpace

29th January 2007
Starting 26 January 2007, Google has officially included MySpace in its Search Network. Advertisements from all advertisers who elect to have their ads published on Google’s Search Network will also appear on MySpace search results.
It is interesting to note that MySpace will be considered to be part of the Google Search Network and not the Content Network. This move will not be very welcome by most advertisers as MySpace is a social networking site that typically does not yield good conversion rates. Including MySpace in the Search Network places it on par with Ask and AOL, which are true search engines, rather than on the Content Network, where one would normally expect a content-based site like MySpace to appear.
