Google Likely To Build Mobile Software, Not Hardware

The “Google Phone” has been a topic of gossip over the past few weeks ever since the head of Google Spain and Portugal alluded to it. Blogs and online forum participants have speculated about what the actual nature of such a “device” would be, largely based on their active imaginations and made-up theories.
With the latest turn of events, it now seems most likely that Google are only working on software that works on mobile phones and not on any hardware.
Google spokespersons have only made the following, rather inconclusive, official statement “Mobile is an important area for Google and we remain focused on creating applications and establishing and growing partnerships with industry leaders to develop innovative services for users worldwide. However, we have nothing further to announce.”
