Google Checkout Overtakes Paypal In UK

A recent report from Hitwise found that traffic to Google Checkout has overtaken PayPal in the first two weeks of December and has held its lead since then. The number of downstream visitors from Google Checkout has also grown rapidly, which might indicate that while people visit the site they don’t necessarily buy using Google Checkout. (more…)

Influence Of Search On Brand Affinity

Google recently commissioned search engine market research firm Enquiro to carry out an online survey & eye tracking study to test the effect brand placements in search results have on brand affinity in the minds of consumers. The study carried out on 2,722 subjects aged 25+ found that placement in the top Sponsored and Organic results can drive up brand affinity by as much as 16 percent. (more…)

Bright Future For Ad-Funded Mobile Networks

Ad funded Mobile Virtual Network Operator Blyk has made a promising start. UK sales director Jonathan McDonald announced that customer click-through rates on the network ranged between 12 and 43 per cent, which is far superior to what is being seen for other operators or on other media. (more…)

Google’s New Project, Knol, Takes On Wikipedia

Visitors Can Now Digg Images
